How to prepare a useful ingredient inquiry
A clear purchasing brief makes the first supplier conversation more useful.
Start with the product
Name the ingredient and specify the form or grade you need. If you use an internal specification, explain which requirements are essential.
Make quantities comparable
Give the quantity and unit, the preferred pack size and whether this is a sample request, trial order or recurring requirement.
Include the destination and application
State where the product will be imported and how you intend to use it. List required documents and any tests you need reviewed.
Define the next step
Ask for the specific response you need: product information, a sample discussion or a quotation.
